New Year's Eve
Vintage Colorado Poetry
December 31, 2005
In Colorado, the mountains do rule. Jessica Watson lives in Manitou Springs.
O
with blue flannel
the dogs are walked
the gravel crunches
under-feet

the orange pink
in the sky last night
has moved over to
another blue

three mountains over
that's where
it's greener sloped
and greener

mountains why
don't you shake us off
like you could
and I think you want to

instead you torture monger
bit by slippery bit
under our feet
cracks in the plaster

slope-ish leaning of the kitchen floor
